Who are these trips OK for?

Our Classic Thames tours are all about enjoying the scenery and history of the Thames from the river, and are not just for serious rowers! Some rowing experience is useful, but not essential.

The ability to safely undertake fast walking level exercise for approximately 4-6 hrs. per day is required. You should be able to get into and out of a boat from the riverbank or a beach – not always easy! If you can’t swim well we recommend you wear a suitable buoyancy aid or life jacket.

Our Classic Thames tours are OK for accompanied children, but they must rowed by an adult or be able to keep up with the group. Our Gig trips are not suitable for children.

A good way to get a flavor of the trips is to read the trip logs available here: Oxford Thames Trip Log Lower Thames Trip Log
