The Oxford Thames Classic trip follows the young Thames as it winds through the Cotswolds to the beautiful University City of Oxford. 5 days will give us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take picnics, and visit the historical places on the way.
We’ll take a morning to enjoy the Cotswolds by minibus, including the village of Bampton, made recently famous as a location in the television production Downton Abbey.
After a few nights at the historic riverside Trout Inn at Tadpole Bridge, we pass through pretty, quiet and unspoilt countryside, and arrive in Oxford at about mid-day on Friday. As we arrive in Oxford we pass the spot where the author of Alice in Wonderland and the real Alice had the picnic which inspired the famous story.
